Renate, Gé's wife, drove a Beetle for years and wanted a Beetle Convertible, so Gé said, "If you still want the familiarity of
a Beetle and want to dive Convertible, why not buy a Karmann Ghia Convertible for you? " Seeing a picture made it clear for
her: there should be a Karmann Ghia Convertible. We found the car as a restore object at Oldtimerfarm.be in Aalst, 25 km.
of Ghent in Belgium.
The plan to refurbish her quickly disappeared soon when we started: this is going to be a total restoration.
In fits and starts, always interrupted by several Volvo restorations, to eventually come out in the spring of 2015.
She has changed color, the upholstery is new black leather, the engine with unleaded heads, electronic ignition and a set
of two new Weber carburettors, we let all the chrome plating rechrome, in short, a metamorphosis compared to the
purchase.
