End of 1982 Jos bought a Volkswagen Beetle with the aim of restoring it for his girlfriend who had her driver's license for just a year.

A lot had to be done: there were bad spots in the body and someone walked over the car, leaving roof and trunk full of dents.
Because it had to be a surprise the Beetle was secretly restored far from home, she knew nothing.

Eventually, the color changed from silver to black, a rack with spare wheel is fitted covered with a leather jacket with VW emblem and so the surprise was places at her front door. The surprise and joy were really big; the car was driven daily for years between Zwolle and Epe.

Ultimately, the Beetle went indoors late 80s of last century and later added to the restoration row.

In 2003, the body was split from the chassis is and sheet metal has been replaced or repaired.

From that moment the two parts have been waiting to be reunited. This happened in the first half of 2016.
Because in the back of the property an extra floor was to be built the chassis had to be moved. One option was to put the body temporaryly onto the chassis. But Jos has chosen for finishing the chassis and engineering. Then the final reunion of the two parts took place and was completed in July 2016 and now the Beetle is waiting again for continuation.
