It was in the seventies that Gé passed by from time to time at the showroom of Volvo-dealer Harrie Arendsen in Doetinchem,
because there was a Volvo PV444AS signed 1949 - his year of birth. Afterward it appeared to be born in september 1950...
The possession of that car seemed an almost inaccessible wish.
As from somewhere beginning of this century the car was stored at Slubo in Doetinchem.
Shortly afterwards the Sluboys were ordered to strip the car, with the additional request to make a costs overview for technical restoration by them and restoration by the damage repair department of Arendsen. They estimated € 40.000.
Gé asked John and Paul to tell Harrie Arendsen that he was willing to pay ƒ 10,000.== or € 4,500.== for the car.
Briefly after an initial "No” the answer turned into "Yes".
Since that moment she was quietly waiting at the Yestercar Foundation for restoration up to summer 2014.
Than after disassembling mr. Harrie Veldhuis started to remove rusty parts and weld in new metal panels.
