Because of expanding freeway intersection Holendrecht A2-A9 near Abcoude a number of buildings needed to be demolished. It is 1977.
In one of the ment sheds were two PV444-models:
A PV444K from 1956 and a PV444A from 1947, with chassis number 2616.

This car appeared to be imported from Belgium.
Concerning its age, the coach was in a good shape, exept the roof was rather damaged.
• As we needed space the car has been shedded for years at Derk-Jan Hupkes' uncles place in Kraggenburg in the
Noord-Oost-Polder. There the car has been used by a German Shepherd as a landing spot while jumping from the hayloft...

Meanwhile since 2008 this car was subject of a total restoration.
We bought heaps of panel sheets and welded it in after removing rotten and rusted parts.
A B4B-engine in perfect condition achived, and plastering and sanding for the first time is done.
• This engine hangs a special mobile buck; it has been used as a learning object in a technical school in Gothenburg and been
running quiter often, but driven less than a kilometer...

From Sweden we obtained all the new door and window seals, as well as the fabric for new upholstery that is finished by now.
• The original upholstery needed severely improvement. At Veteran Parts we bought two colors of fabric and from a local fabrics
shop the fabric for the headlining. Then with the help of my friend Albèr the chairs were dismantled and powder coated;
degraded chrome brackets rechromed. Then cut the fabric, make the piping and sew. Result: brand new upholstery, beautiful!

She has been spay painted in grey epoxy primer waiting for progression.

And that progress came in the spring of 2020: the B4b block purchased in 2009 made operating in the mobile trestle and then we stripped the engine of old paint layers and new engine paint, of course in B4b green.

Meanwhile sprayed the bulkhead in dark gray filler and then in the black lacquer.

Time to assemble the front and rear axle and the engine with gearbox hung in the body.
As a final action for the time being: intermediate shaft, the overhauled starter motor and alternator and the oil filter housing fitted.

The inside sanded and filled, dashboard in epoxy primer and floor parts and trunk in red lead.
The mudguards, the front and the hood go back on and the PV444a goes back to sleep.
