Registration AD-60-48
This Duett from 1959 I took over from someone who, for various reasons, could not renew her as she should be treated.

Meanwhile I have all body parts brandnew, including the spare wheel container, as well as grill frame, rear bumpers and tail lights.
It's all a matter of time, which in fact is for all of my cars.

Here are the pictures from the moment I bought her.
(It all looks more sad than it is; Well, what is called optimism, I should know better…)

Partly because she looked still ather sad we started spring 2016 with the restoration of the nose, doors and sills.
Rotten spots in he mudguards renewed and bad front replaced by a donor-front; doors have new bases, as well as new bins and the sills carved out and new ones inserted. Meanwhile the nose to the doors and sills is filled and sprayed in epoxy primer.
All floor slats found in Sweden and we made new doors and side panels, and purchased a new headlining.
A new spare tire bin and tray underneath await. But first we tackled the flanks and back:
a lot of sheet metal carved out and renewed, welding had already been done at the doors. So the nose off again and engine and gearbox are removed. Another challenge is to come: for the first time we lit a Duett off of her chassis..

And now she hangs there, in our Turner, and she gets new floor plates and spare wheelbox.

Upholstery

The intention was to buy new upholstery on chairs, benches and panels at Veteran Parts,
but at the end of 2017 only the front seats and the door panels were still available.
Unfortunately. But the back seat still had the original upholstery, so at a local furniture fabric
hall, we bought fabric that comes close to the original and on the market skai for the underside
of the door panels and for the B-pillar. The hardboard lists in A- and B-style were made new.
So in 2019 a report will follow.

Registration issues:

When Gé picked up the car there were no registration papers available. That would be deliverd afterwards, but that was it. As the Gouvernemental Office started tidying the regustration files in the second half of 2008, Gé requested delivery registration papers on his name. Because the car was still in the name of a previous owner, not the one who have owned the car traceable, RDW refused to grant the request, but also name and address of the registered man.
To make things worse: the RDW reported that the registered owner wanted the car back.

In short, there was only one option left: a lawyer. He has delved into the matter and concluded that on multiple grounds Gé was the rightful owner, because all claims had been expired anyway after 30 years.
His request to the RDW resulted in receiving the registered owners data and an anonymised copy of the letter from this man to the RDW. In it he reported that the car was stolen in 1975 ....

Gé rang to the gentleman and he was willing to waive all rights and to cooperate in obtaining a new registration in Gé's name. The man initially wanted to have € 750, =, after some hard bargaining it still costed € 275, =, but it paved the way for obtaining the wonderful registration papers on AD-60-48.

Meanwhile, the fees paid, we waited a whole month, before calling the RDW asking why we didn't receive the registration papers. He would be called back, and thus happened the next day: they wanted the know the cars color... And then on the momentous day May 13, 2009, she fell onto the doormat!
